CPSIL currently houses four Thermo Electron gas isotope-ratio mass spectrometers and nine preparation devices.

1. The DELTA V Advantage is configured through the CONFLO III for automated continuous-flow analysis of C, N, or S isotopes in solid inorganic/organic samples using our Carlo Erba NC2100 Elemental Analyzer (EA) or our Costech ECS4010 Elemental Analyzer. The V is also interfaced to a Gas Bench II for automated analyses of C and O in carbonates .

2. The DELTA plus Advantage is configured through the CONFLO III for automated continuous-flow analysis of C, N, or S isotopes in solid inorganic/organic samples using our Carlo Erba NC2100 Elemental Analyzer (EA) or our Costech ECS4010 Elemental Analyzer.

3. The DELTA plus XL is configured through the CONFLO II for automated continuous-flow analysis of O and H isotopes in solid inorganic/organic samples via high-temperature pyrolysis (TC/EA). The XL is also interfaced to our second Gas Bench II for automated analyses of O and H isotopes in water, and our O.I. Analytical TOC analyzer for measurement of C isotopes in water (DIC and DOC). The XL has a classic dual-inlet interface for sample and reference injection through pressurized bellows..

4. The DELTA plus is configured for continuous-flow analysis of N, O, and C isotopes in trace gases (N2O, CH4, and CO2) at atmospheric concentrations using a Thermo Finnigan Precon. The Plus is also interfaced with our new Trace GC-C system for C isotopes in compound-specific analyses.

In summary, we can determine C, N, S, O, and H isotope compositions of gases (either purified or in mixtures at atmospheric concentrations), organics (solid and liquid, of plant and animal origin), inorganics, waters, and at compound-specific levels..
