Fossil CreekThe NAU Biology Department offers many opportunities for studying various areas of ecology and evolutionary biology. These areas include soil ecology, aquatic ecology, microbial ecology, community ecology, ecological genetics and others.

Currently the NAU Biology department has about 100 full-time graduate students with one-third of those pursuing PhD's.
