The NERD project is the result of a collaborative effort between Northern Arizona ecological researchers, Coconino National Forest, and the Rocky Mountain Research Station (USFS) to track scientific research being conducted within the Coconino National Forest ( COF).

This website serves as starting point for researchers intererested in performing work within the COF.

Accordingly, this website is organized around three main categories that facilitate the permitting process and allow an understanding of the technology that makes up NERD. Those categories are, as follows:

  • a how-to for obtaining permits
  • an online permit form
  • a description and how-to for the NERD research databases
