Approximately 1542 quads cover the state.
Purpose:
This dataset controls the tiling and storage locations for the QD024 SGID
ARC/INFO Library. It is also used to create quad neatlines for data to be
digitized at 1:24,000 scale.
Supplemental_Information:
Procedures_Used: The index dataset was generated as a grid of latitude and
longitude lines. This data was then projected into UTM meters and
attributes added.
Revisions: Since the dataset was originally created, several additions and
deletions have been made to reflect irregularities in the state boundary.
Reviews_Applied_to_Data: This dataset has been compared to similar
datasets generated at various agencies using different hardware and all
have been more or less the same. Correct quad names remain a challenge.

Related_Spatial_and_Tabular_Data_Sets: Lists which cross-reference NAME
and TILE-NAME can be found in the AGRC SGID manual. The related INFO
table INDEX.ID can be used to identify 7.5 minute quadrangles by and other
commonly used schemes including the geographic corner coordinates. This
table is sorted on the TILE-NAME field. This field also provides the link
to the INDEX.PAT feature attribute table. The table specifications are:

TILE-NAME SGID tile-name ID (relate and sort key)
OHIO-CODE Quadrangle ID code used by USGS
FS-CODE Quadrangle ID used by the USFS Geometronics Service Center;
references the SE corner
NW_LAT Latitude of the NW corner in DMS format
NW_LON Longitude of the NW corner in DMSformat
NW_LAT_DD Latitude of the NW corner in decimaldegrees
NW_LON_DD Longitude of the NW corner in decimaldegrees
SE_LAT_DD Latitude of the SE corner in decimaldegrees
SE_LON_DD Longitude of the SE corner in decimaldegrees
ANGLE The inverse angle of the east-west centerline of the quadrangle
with respect to the UTM grid. Can be used to correct for the
inherent visual "tilt" when plotting the quad.
