 Overview:

Sagebrush on the Colorado Plateau
Sagebrush areas cover large expanses of land in the western United States, including over 10 million hectares across the Colorado Plateau. In order to manage sagebrush landscapes on Bureau of Land Management lands, it is important to analyze to what degree past vegetation treatments have been effective in controlling sagebrush. For this project we collected data on ~60% of sage treatments from BLM offices on the Colorado Plateau since 1960. Treatments were delineated using ArcGIS, and all treatment variables have been entered into a database previously created for the Pinyon-Juniper Treatment Inventory. Tabular data is available as an Access database, or the database can be queried for tabular data and images from PJWOOD.
